The resulting zinc-nickel deposit is 10-15% nickel and 90-85% zinc. Zinc-nickel plating can result in 800-1500 hours sale spray to red-rust. It can be used as a replacement for cadmium. It accepts most conventional hexavalent and trivalent chromates. EPi recommends testing parts for accepting the chromate and for salt spray results.
